
Please join us for the annual Quilcene Historical Museum Scarecrow Contest in Worthington Park Quilcene. This much-loved, family-friendly contest brings Quilcene-Brinnon residents, schools, and businesses together to show off their creative skills. Please join in or stop by to enjoy – this is one, fun sight to see!
Your scarecrow will be judged by local community members on Nov 11th and there will be prizes for winners in each of the categories.

To Register
Please self-register on the museum’s front porch where you will find registration cards, an entry box, pins, and straw for your scarecrow.
Follow these instructions so that judges will be able to identify and contact you.
- Write your information on the top of the registration card.
- Cut or tear off the bottom portion that lists your entry number.
- Place the top portion into the entry box
- Using a pin, attach the bottom portion of the card, with your entry number on it, to your scarecrow.

Categories
Classrooms: Teachers, have your kids work together and get creative!
Individual/Families: Create a masterpiece by yourself or with your family or friends.provided
Business: Have a fun team-building day and maybe create your new business mascot!
Survivor: Can your scarecrow withstand the weather? Let’s find out. All scarecrows will be included in this category.

Important Dates
Oct 14 – Nov 10: The museum will provide straw to stuff your scarecrow which can be found on the front porch.
Nov 10: Install your scarecrow onto one of the provided stakes that are in the ground at Worthington Park. The stakes can be found along the parking lot, between the lamp posts. Please do not attach your scarecrow to a lamp post. Bring your own zip ties, rope, etc., to secure your scarecrow.
Nov 11: At 11:00 a.m. the judging begins. You do not have to be present during the judging. You will be notified if you are a winner and you can collect your prize!
Nov 18th: Please remove your scarecrow by this date. If it is still up after Nov 5th, the museum will take it down and dispose of it for you. (but who wouldn’t want to take home their amazing masterpiece!)
