Quilcene, Washington

The Quilcene Historical Museum has accomplished many things in our 30 years of operation. Could there be a more momentous way to celebrate this anniversary than in completing the restoration and opening the doors of the Worthington mansion this year? We are eagerly anticipating the continuation of our mission to serve our community, and weave the richness of local history into events – public and private – that we will host at Worthington Park long into the future.
Below, you’ll find the minutes of the QHM organizational meeting. In the words of museum Historian and Director of Curation, Larry McKeehan, “The minutes from the birth of the museum on April 25, 1991, are evidence of a truly amazing group of Quilcene volunteers with determination, and eagerness to preserve the history of Quilcene.” This modest beginning would surge to over 32,000 volunteer hours to preserve the past; their legacy and vision continues today.
